APD Foundation was an associate partner in the 2nd Edition of Smart Sustainable Cities India conference, held on 15th & 16th November at TMA PAI Conventional Hall Mangaluru. We were provided with a kiosk to display our work and activities which gathered lots of attention on our work from various Governmental & Private agencies.

The Smart city mission is an innovative initiative by the Government of India to address these issues to effectively manage assets and allocate resources anticipating future demands and threats. It is a realistic program which has set forth achievable goals by designing an action plan for dovetailing of various urban development schemes and overcoming chronic problems such as land acquisition, delayed project deadlines, lack of coordination among other government schemes, etc that have plagued infrastructure projects in India. Federal corpus of more than $15.6 billion (INR 1 lakh crores) created for urban missions namely Smart Cities India and AMRUT will also play the old trick of reviving the economy through public expenditure in infrastructure projects. With international players competing to invest in the first of the 20 smart cities; creating new opportunities in business, employment and overall growth. The challenge format designed for selecting the 98 cities has created great enthusiasm and awareness among all stake holders in making our cities smart and sustainable metropolises.
