Lok Sabha MP Visits APD Office
Sri Nalin Kumar Kateel, the Member of Parliament representing Dakshina Kannada constituency who expressed keen interest in the initiatives of APD Foundation paid a courtesy visit to our office and interacted with the office bearers and a group students interning with APD. He, who appreciated the activities of the foundation, observed that lot of vehicular air pollution is caused by vehicles installed with reconditioned engines and by fuel adulteration. He further suggested that APD should look into water related issues as the city faces many problems in this regard. The MP interacted with students of IFIM Business School, Bangalore presently undergoing internship with APD and spent time listening to their ideas and sharing his thoughts.

Sri Nalin Kumar Kateel was warmly welcomed by APD team lead by Abdullah A. Rehman, Founder and Chief Executive who briefed the parliamentarian about various projects undertaken by APD. These projects creating awareness and inviting action against air pollution and improper solid waste management related issues included projects such as assessing carbon-footprint of public transport, hasiru Balmatta, Pulmonary Function testing, assessment of the impact of air pollution on auto drivers, and growth and expansion model of APD etc. Subsequently the MP in an interactive session with 34 students of IFIM Business School who belong to 12 states and 2 union territories. Each of the student groups made a presentation regarding the individual project which they are pursuing in association with APD. Dr. Lakshmikantha, Scientific Officer of karnataka State Pollution Control Board for DK District and Udupi was also present on the occasion. The MP was accompanied by BJP Mangalore South president Sri Vedavyasa Kamath.
